Overview
Walkabout with Wildlife!
More than 180 species of marsupials, mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Koalas, wombats, pythons, baby crocodiles, kangaroos, emus, dingoes, flying foxes, stick insects, spiders, wallabies, turtles, frogs, dragons, possums, lizards and more.
Relax at the cafe or explore our three kilometres of hiking trails.
As well as the many free-ranging wild animals, meet the friendly hand-raised animals rescued as joeys. Zoe the Eastern grey kangaroo with her diamante-studded collar. Leila the Red kangaroo. Marshall, the friendliest Swamp wallaby who regularly comes hopping through the shop. Tegan the Wallaroo. Kayla Koala. Luke Skywalker the Flying fox. Happy Feet the Emu. Dexter the Cockatoo. Bundy the lorikeet. Plus so many more.
Ranger-led animal interactions and indigenous bush workshops run throughout the day (see www.walkaboutpark.com.au for the schedules), from boomerang throwing to reptile demonstrations and lots of opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals.
How about a cuddly koala photo? Or would you prefer to pose with a python? Or wander around on your own with a map, exploring our beautiful bush, including such rare plants as our Wollemi colony and large areas of Darwinia glaucophylla.
Most popular are our well-known Aboriginal Sites and Bush Tucker and Bush Medicine tours. We are extremely privileged to not only be located in Darkinjung country, but also to protect a very special hand stencil cave, numerous rock engravings, mondos, axe-grinding grooves and fire-rings. We ask our visitors to treat these precious relics of our country's history with respect , as you indulge your five senses with Australian bush tucker and bush medicine.

This activity takes place at Calga, less than an hour north from Sydney CBD. Take the Calga Interchange exit. Follow signs to 'Aust Walkabout Wildlife Park'. Exact meeting point and supplier's details are provided immediately after booking.
Additional Info
- We suggest closed, comfortable walking shoes, bring a hat and sunscreen for sunny days, and rain gear for wet days. Child tickets are for children aged 4 to 15 years old. Children aged 3 and under are free.
- We're easy to find. Coming from Sydney, travel north along the Pacific Highway. At Wahroonga, get onto the F3 (N1) to Newcastle. Cross the Hawkesbury then take the second exit. (The first exit is Mt White. The 2nd exit is ours - the Calga Interchange.) Follow signs to 'Aust Walkabout Wildlife Park'.
- Numbers on the day: Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
