Overview
Wine Workshops are a fun, easy way for you and a group of friends to learn more about wine styles and tastes.
The workshop features a wine tasting with a quiz. Form the group into teams, taste the wines, answer our questions and the members of the winning team each wins a bottle of fine wine!
We cover a wide range of topics during the tasting, including:
- Classic Australian grape varieties and wine styles
- How to taste wine - See, Swirl, Sniff and Slurp - Spit or Swallow!
- Storing and serving wines; glassware; common wine faults.
- Wine and health - alcohol levels in wines and recommended drinking levels.
- Food and wine matching.
- Life expectancy of wines - when to drink and when to keep.
- Fine wines for investment

Darwin (Darwin and the Top End - Northern Territory)
We meet at your nominated Darwin location.

Numbers
The workshops are fine for up to thirty people.
Session Time
The workshop lasts usually up to two hours.We start with a wine tasting, followed by a really informative wine presentation, and finish with a more thorough wine tasting and quiz, with prizes for the winners.
Guidelines & Restrictions
Humour essential. We come to your favourite metropolitan venue that you have organised. The venue is best set up in a classroom style with seating and table for all, a presenters lectern and glassware. We provide the wine expert and the tasting wines, quiz, full tasting notes and the prize wines.
The Course is run by the education arm of The Wine Depot. Our wine classes are attended by sommeliers, wine industry staff as well as those who enjoy their wine and want to learn more.
