BCL - Sea Kayak Half Day - Melbourne (St Kilda)
Overview
This kayak tour is a half day sampler of what sea kayaking is all about. We operate both morning and afternoon trips. St Kilda is a lively coastal Melbourne town that is great to see from your kayak. Observe the cityscape, paddle close to yachts and ferries while taking in views to St Kilda.
You will be paddling in a double sea kayak for stability, speed and safety. Single kayaks are also available for the more experienced.
There are plenty of opportunities at the end of the kayak tour to visit one of many inner city restaurants along the coast for lunch or dinner; so why not make a day of it!
Remember to bring your bathers, thermal top or 'rashy', water bottle, wet suit boots/old runners or sandals (not thongs). We will supply a spray jacket, thermal top, PFD and spray deck.

We depart from and return to St Kilda, Melbourne. Exact meeting point and supplier's details are provided immediately after booking.
Additional Info
- Participants must be reasonably active and over 16 years of age (for insurance purposes). People with current bad backs, broken arms and legs, wrist injuries or dislocated shoulders should not attend. Participants must be able to swim 50m non stop.
- Customers need to sign an indemnity form and medical form before they commence the trip. Dry bags are supplied for camera equipment and mobile phones. All staff have a sea kayaking guide or instructors qualification, level 2 first aid or wilderness first aid and at least 5 years experience.
- Numbers on the day: We require a minimum of 4 people to run each tour. We have a maximum of 12 people per tour.
- Session length: This kayak experience lasts 3 hours. Morning sessions start at 9.00am and finish at 12 noon. Afternoon sessions start at 1pm and finish at 4pm. The trips available every 2 to 4 weeks. Most popular months are October to April.
- We require good weather conditions on the day. The strength of the wind can affect wave and swell size. Trips will be cancelled if the forecast is 20 knots or above. Our staff will contact you 2 days before hand to confirm the trip. Cancelled trips will be rescheduled at a later date. Includes snack and drink

- Cancellations notified 30 days or more prior to activity date » full refund is given by activity supplier;
- Cancellations notified 8 days or more (but less than 30 days) prior to activity date » 50% refund is given by activity supplier;
- Cancellations notified less than 8 days prior to activity date » no refund is given by activity supplier.
If you do not attend at the agreed date, time and place you may not be entitled to any refund by the activity supplier.
