Overview
Sorrento and Portsea are both historical seaside holiday resorts endowed with maritime and early settlement history. You can 'pass back in time' as you paddle along the foreshore, observing historical houses along the cliff tops, outdoor swimming enclosures, the former quarantine station and some historical shipping wrecks.
As you move closer to Pt Nepean, built up areas are left and dolphins, sea eagles, cormorants etc. may be observed. There is scope to do some snorkelling at the lunch spot so bring along some snorkelling gear.
