DAY 1 - Departing from Launceston we drive along the Heritage Highway though the historic Midland towns of Ross (famous for its carved stone bridge) and Oatlands (with many fine colonial sandstone buildings). We then arrive in Hobart and drive to the top of Mt Wellington (1270m) for spectacular views in all directions. After a short drive in the city, we then head to the Tasman Peninsula for more spectacular scenery and views of Eaglehawk Neck from the lookout. Next, see nature's wonders - the Blow Hole, Tasman Arch and Devil's Kitchen. We make our way to Port Arthur to to stay overnight.
DAY 2 - Our next day starts with a visit to the historical site of Port Arthur for a guided walking tour.Brief visit to a local chocolate factory. Along the way we visit Swansea as well as enjoy some wine before arriving at Freycinet National Park for spectecular view from Tourville lookout wineglass bay and beyond . We also make a brief stop at Freycinet Marine Farm to taste of freshly picked oysters and steamed mussels (own expense). We then arrive in Bicheno to see the amazing Blow Hole. An evening penguin tour is also available (own expense).
DAY 3 - Visit a multi-award winning East Coast wildlife park before heading to St Helens to see great coastal views. See the granite-rock coastline of the Bay of Fires and one of Tasmania's best beaches at Binalong Bay. Next we drive towards Launceston via Scottsdale. On the way, see magnificent St Columba Falls (90m), carved trees at Legerwood. The tour concludes in Launceston CBD.
This tour departs from Launceston and pick up from Hobart then returns to Launceston. We can drop you off at your CBD hotel or at the Visitor Information Centre in Launceston. Exact meeting point and supplier's details are provided immediately after booking.
