Mareeba Food Trail Tour
Description
The Mareeba Food Trail Tour is a full day, departing Cairns, and the northern beaches, three days a week (excludes Port Douglas). It takes you to the dry Northern Cairns Highlands. (Atherton Tablelands)
The tour takes you to the dry tropics, to visit coffee and macadamia plantations, a tropical fruit winery, takes a walk among tropical fruit trees, makes a stop at Granite Gorge to feed wild wallabies, and finishes the day with tropical fruit ice-creams.
You experience interactive farm tours, meet locals, and taste different foods, at every stop. Visiting, small family farms, being able to interact with the owners and family members, who work the business, is a wonderful change of pace, providing amazing insights into Australian life.
With a tropical fruit wine maker, a coffee plantation, a macadamia plantation, morning tea, lunch, sweet treats, and a hint of chocolate, you will have something different to eat, or drink at every stop. On guided farm tours you often meet, and sometimes hear from, the local farmers who do the work on their plantations. Hear how they produce foods, and tropical fruit wines, in the tropics.
Your day includes:
** Tropical fruit trees... You will take a guided walk among a trial planting of exotic fruit trees.
** Morning tea.. with banana bread.
** Wildlife feeding.. Truly wild, Mareeba Rock Wallabies.
** Macadamia Plantation.. You learn about our Australian nut, tour the farm, and taste the final product.
** Barramundi and tropical fruits lunch.. with local condiments and fruit juice.
** Coffee Plantation.. Take a guided tour of a small plantation that only sells mail order direct to the consumer.
** Visit a tropical fruit winery.... Taste tropical fruit wines, ports and tropical creams.
** Finish the day.... with another sweet, tropical, treat.
A real Aussie experience, away from the crowds and other coaches.

This activity departs Cairns and the Northern Beaches, and visits Mareeba, on the Atherton Tablelands. Hotel pick ups are provided from Cairns city, and beaches hotels.
Participant Guidelines
People 17 years and under cannot be served alcohol. Accessing the wallaby feeding area, could be difficult, for some people. The coach does not have disabled lifting, or wheelchair facilities. Due to our duty of care, toward our drivers, it is company policy, not to physically lift people.
Family Rate: 2 Adults and 2 Children
Child Rate: 4 - 14 years of age, inclusive.
Infants (0-3) . Travel free, but a seat must be allocated.

Booking Notes
Must be booked at least 6 days before activity.
Cancellation with less than 48 hours incurs a 100% cancellation fee. Cancellation with less than 7 days notice incurs a 30% cancellation fee. Ph: 4032 0322 to re-confirmed after arrival in Cairns, or 24 hours prior to tour departure. Hotel pick-up time will then be advised We DO NOT pick up from Port Douglas. A $2.00 fuel surcharge may apply, and is subject to change without notice. The surcharge charged is payable direct to the operator, when boarding the coach.
Session Length
The tour departs at 8:00am and returns at around 5:00pm Pick-up, and drop off times for your hotel, will vary. Please phone 4032 0322 after arrival in Cairns, re-confirm and your accommodation pick-up time will be advised.
Numbers on Day
Tours will operate with anywhere between 4 and 21 passengers
