Description

The Ballooning Experience:

The Greater Brisbane and Scenic Rim region in South East Queensland is the ultimate place to experience the magic and adventure of hot air ballooning. After being greeted 20 minutes prior to sunrise, your pilot will brief you and your fellow passengers on the morning's proceedings. After final weather checks by the pilot, you will then be taken to the chosen launch site, based on the mornings wind speed and direction. You might even be able to assist with the inflation of the hot air balloon. Once the balloon is inflated, the hot air balloon will lift off for your flight which will be approximately 1 hour in duration. Whilst floating majestically and effortlessly, your balloon flight combines the city and country in one flight. Your balloon flight is tranquil yet exhilarating. As the world slowly awakens, you float peacefully overhead, witnessing the serenity in slow motion from the balloon basket. Breathtaking views of the city of Ipswich and its classic Queenslanders, heritage buildings and homes, Flinders Peak, Mt. Walker, the Great Dividing ranges, McPherson Ranges, Mt. Tamborine, Moreton Bay, the skyline of Brisbane, Mount Coot-tha, D'Aguilar Range, Wivenhoe Dam, the Brisbane, Fassifern and Lockyer Valleys and the Brisbane and Bremer Rivers. Upon landing, you may become involved in assisting the crew in packing up the hot air balloon or taking photographs. Afterwards our crew will return you to Ipswich for a sumptuous sit down restaurant champagne breakfast, including a full hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, and hash browns) and a continental breakfast (cereals, breads, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, juice, milk, tea,coffee). A commemorative flight certificate will be presented to each passenger to conclude the morning's activity.

Breathtaking views from the balloon may include the heritage city of Ipswich & it's beautiful old buildings, churches, Queenslander architecture, parks & gardens & the meandering Bremer River. Passengers also float peacefully around the countryside taking in spectacular views of Flinders Peak, Mt Walker, and the Great Dividing Range, Mc Pherson Ranges, Lamington National Park through to Mt Tamborine, Moreton Bay, the Brisbane City skyline, Mount Cooth-tha, the D'aguilar Ranges, Wivenhoe Dam, the Brisbane, Lockyer & Fassifern Valleys, as well as the Brisbane & Bremer Rivers.

Participant Guidelines

For flight manifest purposes, all passengers' names and estimated weights(kgs) must be advised. The booking office must be notified if you are over 90 kgs, or have any medical issues. Anyone over 115kg will incur a 50% flight component surcharge. Women are not permitted to fly during pregnancy.

Casual comfortable clothing and flat closed shoes. All passengers must complete and sign a standard company 'Registration, Medical Check & Assumption of Risk' form before the flight. You will be briefed and given safety instructions on the day. Supplier terms and conditions apply.

Booking Notes

Must be booked at least 2 days before activity.

Flights run daily at sunrise (weather and numbers permitting). Ballooning program - please allow approx 3-4 hours. The actual flight is approx 1 hour in duration. Start times vary throughout the year, dependant on sunrise. 4 star motor inn Accommodation (availability dependent): check in after 2.00 pm. Check out 10.00 am.

Session Length

Overnight Accomm. check in from 2.00 pm. Check out 10.00 am the following day after the balloon flight! Please allow 3 - 4 hours for the Ballooning program. Upon booking, passengers will be forwarded by email from the operator details including accom, flight date, meeting time and place map.

Numbers on Day

We operate with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 people in the basket. In the event that minimum numbers are not met, we reserve the right to reschedule your experience for a later date. We operate all year round - 7 days a week - numbers & weather conditions permitting.

It is recommended that at the time of booking, you consider purchasing GoDo Cancellation Cover.
